Membership Secretary's Report – AGM Loughborough 2004-5

I would like to offer a very warm welcome to those who have recently joined the association, and also to those who are here for the first time – it's great to see you all.

General - This year's contacts made are very few indeed, numbering only 14. I had sent out a few emaiIs prior to leaving for the reunion, but no response to date.

The names of the new contacts are:-

Bob Allen                                                                                               Andy Andrews    Kenneth Downton                                  Sarbara Greaves (Sabs)

Mick Ledwards                                                                                     Sue Ledwards nee Rich   Tony Pule                                  Claude Shooter

Les Storey (Geordie)                                                                            Dave Thornton  Elaine Willacy     Alan Willis

Richard Whiting Robin (Bob) Woods             Kevin Ward                          John Hartley

I managed to meet up with Dave Caldwell this summer who was exhibiting horses at the Royal Cornwall Show. Dave has not change that much at all and him and his wife, Lindsay, are eagerly awaiting the venue for next year's reunion so they can start making plans right away for the horses to be looked after.

I have also been corresponding with Elaine Willacy to convince her to part with £10.

Media advertising - My thanks to Roger Sparks for putting me on to a magazine for those who work in

government. From an announcement regarding the reunion club, I received a reply from Mick and Sue Ledwards.

Two years ago I tentatively suggested a 2 L of C button on our site, as there are 28 names on the contacts list of those who were there at the end of the 50s when it changed over to 16 Sig Regt. I have received some photos from a couple of the men, which need to be put on the web site.

                                         What do members think ?

The database of contacts now stands at 384 names. Maybe I need to get in touch with those who have never been to a reunion, and encourage them to do so.

Expenses £8.60 claim to the Treasurer

Can I just end by saying that we all need to continue with networking for ex-members of the regiment and to encourage those who we have not seen for a while, to be there at our next reunion. If you do come across

anyone, or are contacted by anyone, can you please let me know? Thanks
