Dave Bracey
| Regretfully Peter Cuckow RSA membership sec' in
Blandford has notified me of the death of Dave Bracey who lived in
Catterick village with his wife Sheila (nee Goodyear). Dave was in 16
sigs 1970-73 and was a Technician in 1 sqn C shift during that time. It
was their intention to come to last years reunion but sadly had to pull
out due to ill health at the last minute virtually. I had never met Dave
personally but he was on our database. Should anyone know of our
membership not on the net would they kindly let them know of this sad
news

MARLENE ATTENDED DAVE'S FUNERAL
I was honoured to be able to represent our reunion club at the funeral of Dave Bracey last Friday and also for personal reasons. There were 12 representatives from Royal Signals Association and it was a quiet but respectful service. Sadly I could only attend the church service and not the subsequent cremation.
A friend commented that thing they would remember most about Dave was his broad smile and it is probably what the regiment would most remember him by.
Dave worked with Ken in Radio Relay Troop then went to "C" Shift down the hole. He met Sheila at Krefeld and got married.
One of their sons - Peter - is just like looking at Dave 30 years ago.
I wore my Jimmy and also my 60's 16ers badge and was instantly recognised as to who I was.
Sheila received condolences from everyone from the club and a donation. She appeared to be doing OK in the circumstances.
Finally my thanks to Elaine Edwards of the RSA for assistance on the journey home.
Dave was born in 1951 and served with the Regiment between 70 - 73 and passed away on 10th June 2006.
