ALLAN DIXON

By  now most of our members would have learned of the sad passing of one of our members Allan Dixon in the early hours of Friday 25th April.

Below is the quote by his brother John which was posted on the message centre that day.

It is with great sadness that this morning at 0110hrs, my brother Allan passed away after a long illness. He bore his illness with great dignity and kept his sense of humour.
The end was swift, and thanks to the doctors and nurses in his last few days he was pain free. Sandra will be forever grateful for the messages and thoughts of you all over these past few months.
I will inform you all as to when and where his funeral will take place, and we would welcome anyone from the Regiment to attend.

God bless you Allan, you were more than a brother, you were a friend.

Dixie and Noreen

The arrangements for the funeral are as follows

Thursday 1st May at 2 pm at St Cuthbert's Church. Colburn Lane. Colburn in Catterick.

It has been requested that there be no flowers, however, donations to the hospital which looked after Allan would be welcome and at the wake to follow there will be a collection tray for cash or cheques.

Cheques can be made out to FRIARY HOSPITAL, RICHMOND

or sent to Sandra's home address at 9 Coronation Ave. Colburn. Catterick. N. Yorks. DL9 4NP

All members of the 60's 16ers will be welcome to attend and a map of area is shown below

Further, as Sandra would like to treat this as a celebration of Allan's life she would prefer it that those attending could avoid wearing dark clothing (as we would normally do) and maybe see it as a more cheerful occasion.
